Single Trip

Going away just the once this year?

This is cover for a one-off trip in the UK or abroad.

Cover can be purchased up to 365 days in advance.

Annual Multi-Trip

Consider an Annual Multi-Trip policy if you’re going away more than once in a year as it could save you money.

It means you can pop abroad multiple times, for a weekend break, to see a band or a game, or whatever takes your fancy, and you won’t have to worry about sorting out cover because you’ll already be insured.

Cover can be purchased up to 31 days in advance.

Backpackers 

Our Backpacker cover is for 18 to 60 year olds and covers you for a single trip for up to 18 months.

Backpacker policies do not provide cover for UK based trips.

There are two definitions of worldwide for our insurance purposes. Because of the high costs of medical treatment in these countries, one excludes the United States, Canada, Bermuda, Greenland, the Caribbean, Mexico and Thailand. The alternative definition includes them but typically means you may have to pay a slightly higher premium.

During your trip will you be taking part in any of the below?

Winter Sports – compulsory cover for skiing and snowboarding holidays

Protection for accidents and injury including when skiing and snowboarding off-piste within recognised paths and resort boundaries. There’s also cover for damaged or stolen ski equipment, piste and avalanche closure and lift passes.

Cruise Cover – compulsory cover for cruise holidays

As well as protecting you if you’re ill or require emergency medical treatment on board, you will be covered if you miss your cruise departure due to transport delays. Cover is also available for cruise interruption and missed port, and increased personal baggage. A cruise is defined as a trip involving a sea or river voyage of more than 3 days in total duration.

Our Annual Multi-trip cover insures you to travel multiple times over the next 12 months. For cancellation cover to begin immediately for any trips you’ve already booked, make sure you choose today’s date as the start date for the policy.

Ideal if you’re travelling solo.

My partner and me

It’s more convenient and it could save you money too if you insure yourself and your partner as a couple. To qualify you must both live at the same address. If you don't live together, don’t worry, we can still offer you cover under My friends (see below).

My family

Insure yourself as a family and your children, grandchildren, adopted children or foster children are covered too. To qualify, children and grandchildren need to be under 18 and in full-time education or living with you. If you are divorced or separated and your children don't live with you, they can still be included under a family or single parent policy. With Single Trip Insurance your kids need to travel with you or your partner to enjoy our cover. With Annual Multi-trip the adults can travel independently and on some of our policies the kids can too, so long as they are accompanied by a responsible adult (check policy for details).

My friends

Are there between 2 and 8 of you travelling together? Then you can consider yourself as a group. If you have more than eight in your party, call our helpline to arrange insurance. (You’ll also need to insure yourselves as friends if you and your partner are living at separate addresses.)
Partner cover only applies if you and your partner live at the same address. Don’t worry, we can still offer you cover as friends.

Please note this travel insurance policy will not cover you for any loss or any claim relating to pre-existing medical condition(s) unless declared, accepted by us and you have paid any additional premium and full cover has been confirmed by us in writing. Failure to make a full and accurate declaration means we may cancel the policy, refuse to deal with your claim or reduce the amount of any claim payment potentially leaving you with substantial costs to pay.

  • Have not been diagnosed with a terminal illness
  • Do not have an undiagnosed medical condition, or a medical condition where you are awaiting the diagnosis.

  • Are not travelling intending to receive medical treatment
  • Are not travelling against advice of a medical practitioner or would be travelling against advice if you asked for it
